Steps to a great flat iron on your hair:

The first thing to do is to wash the hair.  Next, put it into plats or blow dry if this is possible.                        

Use a combo conditioner or hot oil treatment for washing.

I recommend dividing the hair into the sections, at least 4, so that it will give a good idea of how far along you are to your finishing style.

Flat iron the hair in between combings, Hair will seem matted at first, eventually getting more manageable.
